What is the fostering allowance much do foster carers receive?
One of the questions we most frequently get asked is “how much is the fostering allowance?”. Once you have a child placed in your care, you will receive an allowance in the region of £22,000 a year. The allowance will vary dependant on the complexity of the placement, the location & the age of the child.
The fostering allowance will cover the needs of the young person in your care i.e. food, clothes, leisure, travel etc. As well as the professional fee for you and your time & effort as a carer.
