Step 1 – Get in touch

Get in touch with our team by completing an online form, requesting a call back or an information pack.

Step 2 – Home visit 

We will arrange to meet you and your family at your home or by video chat for an initial home visit.

Step 3 – Applying to become a foster carer

The next step will be to complete an application form. We will support you through the process of submitting this. 

Step 4 –Starting the assessment  

You will be assigned an assessing social worker who will work with you to complete a Form F assessment.

Step 5 – Skills to foster

We want to give you the skills you need to be at your best, training starts as soon as you apply. All prospective foster carer are required to attend our 3 day ‘Skills to Foster’ training course.

Step 6 – Fostering Panel

Before your recommendation is made to become a foster carer, a panel carries out final checks of all the information that has been gathered throughout the assessment process 

Step 7- Your first child

Once the ADM has approved your application, you’ll be ready for your first placement.

Our support continues when you foster a child

With regular visits and access to 24/7 support you will never be alone.
